Another incredible opportunity has come to the city of Lahore; Maker Fest!
Maker Fest Pakistan is the continuation of the global maker movement which has spread across several parts of the US, Europe, Africa and Asia and the first of its kind festival in Pakistan.
MFP will bring together inventors, crafters, artists and tech innovators from across the country featuring workshops, performances, talks, film screenings and a diverse exhibition. MakerFest Lahore is envisioned as a community-organized event that would showcase locally developed projects that draw inspiration from STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, and Mathematics. The event by organized by Information Technology University in collaboration with DIY Geeks.
The event is scheduled to take place on 28th October 2017 at Arfa Software Technology Park, Lahore. Arfa Software Technology Park, Lahore has held many notable events in the previous years, it is a perfect setting for makers from all over Pakistan to show what they are making and share what they are learning. A diverse variety of makers can take part on this occasion, ranging from tech enthusiasts to crafters to homesteaders to scientists to garage thinkers. This is one place for all creative minds to gather around.
Anyone who shares the passion for innovation and creativity can register for the event as an attendee, startup or as a project. MakerFest Lahore aims for not only the provision of a perfect platform for Makers to showcase their passionate innovations but this would also aid the Makers in getting connected with leading local business community and investors from Pakistan to share, inspire and exchange ideas. It can be the kick start to their startups that young entrepreneurs have been searching for.
Along with the exhibit of innovative products, Makerfest Lahore would also include small curated events that are intended to add more excitement to the event. By hosting the curated events, the Maker movement will gain footing in Lahore that shall give opportunity to host a similar events in the future.
Maker Fest Pakistan is organized by PlanX Technology Accelerator (A project of Punjab Information Technology Board (PITB) in collaboration with DIY Geeks, Makeistan, PITB, MIT Enterprise Forum Pakistan and Information Technology University (ITU)
